Cadet Invest, NCSA, and RCLS Application Quick Guide 

 


Cadet Invest Guide - Deadline is December 31st CST Remember to check your time zones

1. Choose your Scholarship (s)

Cadet Academic Scholarships -for education purposes- Used for leadership schools. RCLS, COS and college. If you are using this Scholarship for college please talk to a senior member before applying. 

Cadet Flight Scholarships -non flight academy. This will help you pay for your flights at a local squadron for your pilots license. 

Cadet Lift/TOP- used for NCSAs and NFAs- pays for transportation to and from the activity as well as the activity it’s self. 

Cadet Wings- Pays for Flight academy and remaining flight training after that. 

 

2. Financial profile 

Ask your parents/Guardian what category of financial profile you are in and check whichever box applies to you.

 

3. CAP service

Go through and answer all the questions about your CAP service and your accomplishments.

 

4. Aviation experience

Go through and answer all the questions about your experience with aviation.

 

5. Academic Achievements

Go through and answer all the questions about your academics. If you do not know the answers ask a parent/guardian or your school guidance counselor. 

 

6. Supplemental 

Each scholarship or financial assistance program has different document requirements. Be sure to check the instructions for EACH scholarship or financial assistance program to which you are applying for document requirements. Please limit your document uploads to 3MB or less. A resume and at least 1 letter of Recommendation are required for Cadet Wings, Flight, and Academic Scholarship.

 

A. Resume (Required for Cadet Wings, Flight, and Academic Scholarship)

B. Letter of Recommendation (Required for Cadet Wings, Flight, and Academic Scholarship)

These need to be from certain people for example when applying for cadet wings get a letter from someone you have flown with on an O-Flight.

 

C. Flight Plan (Required for flight Scholarship)

This is a paper describing how you will use the Scholarship money. This must include where you will fly from (what Airport) and who your instructor will be. Remember to get their permission to put them in your flight plan.

 

D. Navigator agreement (Required for Cadet Wings)

E. Hanna Memorial Essay (Required for Cadet Wings and Flight Scholarships)

It may be no longer than one page. Include long-term goals of Aviation and service.

NFA guide (National Flight Academy)

Requirements

  • Completed Encampment by the time of submitting your application 
  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Must have or start an application for a student pilot certificate. (There is no charge to do this) https://iacra.faa.gov/IACRA/Default.aspx

  • To be eligible to solo you must have a third-class certificate for a list of aviation medical examiners near you follow the link below: http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/medical_certification

NCSAs and COS

Requirements

  • Completed one encampment by the time of application
  • Some have age and rank requirements 
  • Make sure you have all of your prerequisites done. If you need help, go up your chain of command.

  • Must have completed an encampment by time of application
  • Must be minimum C/MSgt
